Bordering East Sheen and with a fabulous riverside location on the south bank of the River Thames is the lovely area of Mortlake. The area has a long history - Mortlake appears in Domesday Book of 1086 as Mortelage, which is thought to mean a small stream containing young salmon, referring to an old fishery in the area.
